of the GOFC-GOLD panel. GOFC-GOLD (Global Observation of Forest and Land Cover Dynamics) http://www.fao.org/gtos/gofc-gold/ is a panel of GTOS http://www.fao.org/gtos/. GTOS (Global Terrestrial Observing System) is a programme for observations, modelling, and analysis of terrestrial ecosystems to support sustainable development.
SCERIN (originally SEERIN) http://scerin.eu is an informal network of scientists and other professionals based in the region or with scientific interests in the region of South Eastern and Central Europe http://scerin.eu.
The SCERIN geographic domain encompasses Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, the Danube watershed and western Black Sea coast. SCERIN contributes to GOFC-GOLD and has strong linkages with the Northern Eurasia Earth Science Partnership Initiative (NEESPI), which are programs of internationally supported Earth System Science research.
SCERIN has also strong linkage with the IGU LUCC workgroup.
